am seeking an employment in the field of graphic design and web
production. Therefore, I am applying for the position you advertised on
the O’Reilly & Associates web site.
I
have a broad range of interests, particularly in design and computer
graphics, and significant linguistic skills, and my desire is to widen my
exposure to the corporate world, where the variety of my qualifications
could truly be utilized.
I
am currently following the Web Development and the Applied Graphics
Certificate Programs at Santa Rosa Junior College. I am conversant in a
number of software applications utilized in desktop publishing. I am also
interested in creating and maintaining websites. These skills paired up
with my fluency in English, French, Italian, German and Punjabi, but also
my solid professional background in the area of libraries, can certainly
be used in a number of ways within your corporate infrastructure.
My
experience in Library and Information Sciences evolves from two periods of
employment and my area of specialization at the ESID, Geneva, Switzerland,
one of the highly regarded European schools in the domain of Library
Sciences and Documentary Information. For three years, I had been
responsible for maintaining the subject indexing for an on-line database
for the library coordination services at the University of Geneva,
Switzerland. After my family and I arrived to California, my immigration
status did not authorize my employment, and I had volunteered for two
years in the Cataloging Department of the Ruben Salazar Library at Sonoma
State University. Recently, after I obtained the work permit, I was hired
as librarian at the same location.
